Local Autism Program Coach

Project ACCESS offers districts the opportunity to collaborate in an evaluation of their district's autism program.  Currently we offer onsite consultation with your school staff and use the Autism Program Environment Rating Scale (APERS) instrument to review your local program with you.  In the fall of 2025, we will be making available to new enrollees for the current academic year, a new series of workshops entitled Essential Features of an Autism Program.  The goal of this ambitious program will be to teach a local coach all of the components that should be present in a high quality autism program and how to monitor your own program.  In this program, you will learn how to evaluate your own district or building strengths and challenges related to a high quality program for students with autism. Your district may not have an "autism program" per se, but can still benefit for determining if the ingredients of a good program are integrated into your special services care for students with autism.  If you would like become your district's or your building's Local Autism Program Coach, please reach out to Project ACCESS at projectaccess@missouristate.edu for more information.
