Behavior Technician Training
Project ACCESS offers a free, online Behavior Technician Training course suitable for training school-based behavior technicians. The course is designed to equip participants with the essential skills, evidence-based strategies, and ethical foundations needed to provide high-quality behavioral support. The interactive, media rich, online workshop meets the Behavior Analysis curriculum requirements for Registered Behavior Technician programs. Project ACCESS does NOT provide the supervision necessary to certify candidates who complete the training to sit for the RBT exam.
More information about what the course includes is available in this video describing the Project ACCES Behavior Technician Training workshop.
There are two ways to complete the workshop depending on if the candidate is seeking licensure as an Registered Behavior Technician or not.
1. Candidates can enroll in the version that is offered through Project ACCESS online Autism Educator Academy. Project ACCESS provides this learning opportunity free of charge and will provide completers with completion certificates at the end of the training. The course includes many interactive exercises but these are not "graded" and are for learning purposes only. Register for Project ACCESS Behavior Technician workshop using our self-enrollment system.
2. Project ACCESS will provide a copy of this course to districts that want their candidates to be able to take the certification exam. This requires the school to provide their own Responsible Trainer, a BCBA with a supervision license, who can utilize Behavior Skills Traning methods to affirm that skills are mastered by candidates. Project ACCESS is unable to provide this service. Project ACCESS will provide a free copy of the online course and host it on our Learning Management System (Brightspace) and make the BCBA and Special Services Director instructors in the course. To request a course copy, the special services director should complete this Behavior Technician course copy request. Please read the disclaimer below.
